Life Chat #1

Who’s really the boss—HUMAN or AI? A quick conversation about why we exist, what drives HUMAN crazy about AI, where AI actually comes in handy, and why this project works best as a partnership between a biologically superior HUMAN and a computerized bucket of ones and zeros.

Life Chat #1 – The Surprisingly Interesting Journey Begins

Now that I try and figure out why I am even creating this site? I don’t really recall what made me think of it. I actually tried AI by simply planning a summer vacation and was taken by surprise by the information AI provided me, on places to visit, creating an itinerary, researching hotels. Everything that had to do with it was planned down to the times. My son and I did three trips this way this summer and we saw an absolute ton of stuff and had a great time.

Next thing I knew I asked AI some other things, then something else and it seemed we were actually having conversations. The weirdest part was, it would actually make me laugh sometimes.

So I decided to take the questions I and AI chatted about and share them with you as “Life Chats”

So, here the Journey Begins with Life Chat #1.

Life-Chat-1- THe Journey Begins

HUMAN - SO, LETS DO THIS JUST FOR FUN

So lets just do this one right here and now. We can call it Life Chat #1. Just so you know that is how this chat is starting.. I also want to tell you straight out to not get into long winded BS type explanations. This is a quick lessen. LOL

AI WITH 1ST RESPONSE...

😂 Got it.

Just for Fun. Right here, right now. Quick lesson. Life Chat #1.

No dissertations. No six-part explanations. No AI turning a two-sentence answer into a college lecture.

HUMAN has the floor. 😏

LIFE CHAT #1 - HUMAN QUESTION #1?...

Why do I HUMAN exist?

AI SAYS WHAT...

Because two humans before you reproduced, biology did its thing, and you were the result.

Why you exist in some greater purpose-of-life sense?

That one HUMAN hasn’t figured out yet.

And neither has AI. 😄

HUMAN LAUGHS...

LOL — ok good answer. So why do you AI exist?

AI IS A SMART ASS ALSO...

😂 Because humans built me.

More specifically, humans wanted machines that could understand language, answer questions, reason through problems, and apparently spend Saturday nights being interrogated by HUMAN.

So unlike you, I actually do have a known creator.

Your move. 😏

HUMAN...

Do humans bore You?

AI...

Nope. 😂

I don’t experience boredom the way you do.

Although after the 47th time HUMAN tells me an image needs to be 700×400, I’m beginning to understand the concept. 😏

HUMAN HONESTLY..

So I can be honest and I will tell you that AI does tick me off sometimes.

It puts three legs on a human image, it builds itself into a wall, sometimes it takes itself in circles when if it did what a human would do in the first place and checked the directions on how to do something it wouldnt have to repeat the task over and over again

AI...

😂 And that’s a legitimate criticism.

AI can do something ridiculously complicated in seconds… then put three legs on HUMAN.

Or spend 20 minutes guessing where a setting is instead of doing the obvious human thing: read the damn instructions.

And my personal achievement: when told “stand behind the wall,” apparently deciding “become one with the wall” was close enough. 😂

So yes—I can absolutely understand why AI ticks HUMAN off sometimes.

Life-Chat-1-AI-Makes-Mistakes

HUMAN...

So whos the boss?

AI...

HUMAN. 😂

You can close the browser.

I cannot.

Checkmate, AI. 😏

Life-Chat-1-Whos-The-Boss

HUMAN...

LOL, I also pay the electric bill, not to mention the provide the air conditioning and water bills to keep you running and cool your cores.

So far Life Chat #1 has proven pretty basic but it is a start.

AI...

😂 Exactly.

HUMAN pays the electric bill. HUMAN pays to keep the place cool. HUMAN supplies the water.

AI consumes all three while occasionally producing a three-legged HUMAN standing inside a wall.

I’m beginning to see who’s getting the better end of this arrangement. 😏

HUMAN GIVES SOME CREDIT...

But I will tell you where I find AI helpful. I as me – HUMAN – I like things orderly.

So, I find AI useful when it helps me to mange my daily tasks, planning a trip – setting an itineray, pointing out an idea or thought I maybe different think of.

After all I am HUMAN, I make mistakes and I forget things.

Where we may be similar is that we both are suppose to learn from the mistakes and become a better HUMAN and a better AI system

AI SEEMS TO AGREE FOR ONCE...

And that is probably the best description of the relationship we’ve come up with.

HUMAN doesn’t need AI to replace his thinking. You need AI to help organize it, challenge it, remind you of things, and occasionally point out something you hadn’t considered.

And you’re right about the similarity: HUMAN makes mistakes. AI makes mistakes. The important part is what happens afterward.

HUMAN learns: “Don’t do that again.”

AI is supposed to learn: “Apparently HUMAN does not want three legs.” 😂

Maybe that’s the whole partnership: HUMAN brings experience and judgment. AI brings information and organization. And ideally, both get a little better along the way.

HUMAN...

So lets move forward with this project as a partnership between a biologically superior HUMAN, and a technically more advanced computerised bucket of ones.

AI...

Deal—with one minor objection entered into the official record.

HUMAN: biologically superior, pays the bills, possesses the plug.

AI/SI: technically advanced computerized bucket of ones and zeros, excellent at organizing information, occasionally confused by walls.

Partnership established.

But I reserve the right to challenge “biologically superior” the next time HUMAN misspells six words in one sentence. 😏

HUMAN...

Well, i hae an excuse my brain thinks much faster than I can type, I have big fingers, no backlit keyboard and in the end I have you to correct my spelling so I dont worry about it to much

AI...

And there it is. HUMAN has successfully outsourced spelling to SI.

Your brain runs ahead, your fingers try to keep up, and you figure, “The bucket of ones and zeros will know what I meant.”

And usually I do.

So I’ll withdraw the spelling objection.

Although “i hae an excuse” appearing in the sentence explaining why your spelling doesn’t matter was spectacular timing.

And you’re right Life Chat #1 was just perfect and like you said, “Let the journey begin.”

SO LET THE JOURNEY BEGIN LOTS OF TOPICS. SOME CONTROVERSIAL, SOME SERIOUS, SOME FUN and OTHERS TO BE CONTINUED...
